Sports Day Tomorrow! (Friday, June 10)

Dear Queen Elizabeth School Community,

Sports Day is scheduled tomorrow, as we have communicated. The weather is not looking very promising and while we feel that this mornings rain we could have handled, this afternoons downpour would have caused us to cancel our afternoon Sports Day activities. We are hoping for the best tomorrow and understand that the worst of the weather was expected for today – so fingers crossed.

We ask the following:

  • Ensure your child is dressed appropriately – Proper Rain Jackets (shed water, not absorb it) and Boots
  • Your child brings a Recess Snack AND Lunch
  • Do your best to have fun and be creative with our Pirate Theme – we suggest you don’t go too far as the rain may spoil any elaborate costumes or makeup, you may want to keep it simple
  • Please bring umbrellas as spectators

If the weather is very bad (as it was this afternoon) we will consider canceling activities and returning to the school. We expect that even if it rains the temperature will be warm and we WILL be able to continue. Be prepared however, that we may cancel any, or all activities, if necessary. Our hope is that we complete the day or at least the morning so all the students have a chance to participate in some of the Sports Day activities.

Please pay close attention to the schedule below:

9:20 AM – Kindergarten and Grade 1 – Following morning drop off parents that wish to join us are asked to make their way to the Ryall Park field across Salter, classes will take attendance and get organized to arrive as soon as they can. We are aiming for a 9:20 AM start.

10:15 – 10:45 AM – Recess Break

11:00 AM – Grade 2, 3 and 4 – Part 1 – Parents should arrive directly to Ryall Park Field

12:25 – 1:10 PM – Lunch Break

1:30 – 2:45 PM – Grade 2, 3, and 4 – Part 2 – Parents should arrive directly to Ryall Park Field

Thank you!
