Reconciliation Week at QE

The recent discovery of the remains of 215 Indigenous children at the Kamloops Residential School Site has hit our school community hard. Classrooms are engaging in art and literacy activities all this week to continue supporting student learning around the impact of Residential Schools on Indigenous communities and help process our profound feelings of sadness and loss.

Staff and Students have been wearing orange throughout the week and our flag is being flown at half mast.

We encourage our entire school community – staff, students and families – to wear Orange on Friday, June 4th with all New Westminster Schools as we recognize, remember and continue our work towards truth and reconciliation.

Please Join us and wear orange on Friday, June 4th and help us remember and work towards a better present, and future for all indigenous communities.
