QE News and Reminders!

Dear Queen Elizabeth School Community,

Our Terry Fox run today was a great success! Thank you to all the families that came out to participate and cheer us on. A special thanks to Brian Hainsworth who spontaneously played the “Chariots of Fire” on a portable speaker for both our runs today – outstanding and so very appreciated. So far we have raised over $700 for the Terry Fox Foundation – almost double what was raised last year already – thank you for your ongoing support! Donations will continue to be accepted until October 1st – please consider donating through School Cash Online.

Important Dates next week:

Monday, September 27th – Professional Development Day – School is Closed.

Wednesday, September 29th – Orange Shirt Day – we encourage our entire community to wear orange on Wednesday, September 29th to recognize Orange Shirt Day and our continued efforts towards Truth and Reconciliation for all Indigenous Peoples. For those families that ordered Orange Shirts through the district you should have received a message from the school that your shirts are available for pick up today at 2:40 PM. If you are unable to pick up your shirts please let us know and we will ensure they are available for you to pick up on Tuesday or we can send them home with your child.

Thursday, September 30th – National Day for Truth and Reconciliation – School is Closed.

Thank you for a great week!
