Principal’s Message – September 15th
Dear Queen Elizabeth School Community,
We’re off to a great start! Students are settled in, teachers are connecting with families and instruction is well under way! We have welcomed our Kindergarten students this week and they will begin full days as of next Tuesday.

Upcoming Dates and Events:
Monday, September 19th – Statutory Holiday to Observe Queen Elizabeth II’s Funeral – School Will be Closed.
Wednesday, September 21st – Terry Fox Run – We will hold two runs for Terry on September 21st. Our first will be for Grade 1 and 2 classes at 9:30 AM. The second will be for our Grade 3 and 4 classes at 11:00 AM. We will follow the typical route around the City Park and we would love you to join us! We are looking for Parent Volunteers to help as Course Marshals and Cheerleaders – if you are interested, please let Mr Manville know in reply to this email! Opportunities for donations to the Terry Fox Foundation will be provided on School Cash Online. We appreciate your support!
Thursday, September 22nd – Individual Picture Day – Individual Student Pictures are scheduled for Thursday, September 22nd. We typically get through all students by early afternoon starting with our youngest (we don’t want them to mess up their hair or clothes at recess!). Please ensure you do not send your child to school for pictures if they are ill, there will be an opportunity for retakes and those that missed pictures, on November 4th.
Friday, September 23rd – Professional Development Day. School will be Closed to Students
Wednesday, September 28th – PAC meet at 7 PM via Zoom – Agenda and Zoom link to follow
Thursday, September 29th – Orange Shirt Day – Please join us wearing an orange shirt in support of Truth and Reconciliation. We have a limited supply of Youth Large and Youth Extra Large Orange Shirts Available for purchase in the office at $10 a shirt. Please see us in the office if you would like one.
Friday, September 30th – National Truth and Reconciliation Day. School will be closed.

**A reminder of the PAC Plant Fundraiser happening right now! Our plant fundraisers have been a great success, with fantastic plants at reasonable prices and a portion of the proceeds supporting field trips and classroom supplies! Thank you for your ongoing support of our growing Learning Community (pun intended).
Today is the deadline and all orders must be submitted by 8PM tonight. Details and Order link here:
Time is running out – 8PM tonight (Thursday, September 15th) is the PAC Plant Fundraiser deadline!
Please make sure to have your orders submitted and paid prior to that date. Plants will arrive to the school on Thursday, September 29th and will be available for pick up between 3:00-4:00 p.m. If you are unable to pick up yourself, please send someone else on your behalf or contact Tabitha via text at 778-792-0054 to discuss other arrangements.
