Principal’s Message – May 1

Dear Queen Elizabeth School Community,

Mayors’ Food Bank Challenge

Mayor Patrick Johnstone is participating in the third annual Mayors’ Food Bank Challenge in support of the Greater Vancouver Food Bank, and needs the Queen Elizabeth School Community’s help!

According to 2021 Census data*,10% of residents in the City of New Westminster were low income. 25% of those residents were children and 15% were seniors. In the month of February, the Greater Vancouver Food Bank recorded a total of 1,727 visits out of their distribution location at Olivet Church. 34% of the clients who visited this location were children and youth, and 8% were seniors.

Please consider supporting this important initiative and help us reach our fundraising goal. You can follow this link https://events.foodbank.bc.ca/fundraiser/queenelizabeth to our Fundraising Page and make a donation to support the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.

Grade 4 Leadership students will be involved in fundraising activities such as Freezie Sales in the coming weeks to help us meet our Food Bank Challenge goal.

Thanks for the support!
