Principal’s Message – June 8th
Dear Queen Elizabeth School Community,
The school year is drawing to a close! Please see the following calendar reminders and information.
Sports Day!!
A reminder that Sports Day is tomorrow, Friday, June 9th.
This year’s Sports Day will follow a similar format as previous years. We will be at Ryall Park South (corner of Salter and Carter) and parents are encouraged to join us!
We are anticipating cooler but still warm temperatures tomorrow and potentially some rain. Our Sports Day will continue Rain or Shine! Please dress children appropriately for the weather.
Kindergarten/Grade 1 students will begin Sports day at 9:20AM and continue until there recess break at 10:20AM
Grade 2 – 4 students Sports Day will start at 11:00AM, break for lunch at the regular time (12:24 – 1:10 AM), and continue again for round 2 at 1:30PM.
The event wraps up with the famous Tug-of-War at 2:30PM
Our fantastic PAC will be providing a refreshment station and a Cheese Pizza Lunch for the entire school! Thank you!
* Please ensure you provide your child a recess snack and a lunch if they do not like cheese pizza or require additional food. Each child will receive 2 slices of cheese pizza if they wish.
Important PAC Information and Updates
Our Final PAC meeting of the 2022-23 year will be held in person at the school on Wednesday, June 28th @ 6:30 PM. All School Community members are encouraged to attend. We thought it would be fun for parents to hold the meeting in our new Bee Habitat (Outdoor Learning Area) behind our Modular Classrooms on the West Side of the School Property. Parents will have a chance to see our Bees in person and participate in one of our most important meetings of the year to hear district updates from our School Trustee Liaison – Marc Andres, school updates from school administration, show our appreciation for outgoing PAC Executive Members, participate in 2023-24 Executive Elections, and hear more about all things PAC!! The PAC does an amazing job each year to support the school and students – please consider showing your support and appreciation by attending this meeting and considering your involvement with the PAC in the coming school year!

Lost and Found!
… Is stocked with your children’s hoodies and jackets! We will wheel the Lost and Found out to the sidewalk in the coming days to see if we can reunite you with your child’s belongings! The Lost and Found is always available to parents in our foyer if you are able to check it out at drop off or pick up. Any unclaimed items at years end will be donated.
Moving?
Is your family planning to move and not return to QE next year? Please let us know as soon as able, this information is critical to our planning and organization for 2023-24! This of course does not apply to our current Grade 4 students heading to QMS.
Beees!
Our Alveole Bee Workshops continue today with Divisions 12 and 13 (Tse and Janz). Student have enjoyed close Bee Encounters in our new Bee Habitat behind the modular classrooms! Check it out at our My Hive Page! – link below:
