Principal’s Message – June 12th
Dear Queen Elizabeth School Community,
We have had another successful week of continued Remote Learning and Voluntary Return to School for many students. We are heading into the final 2 weeks of school, Report Cards have been prepared and classrooms now start to wind down assignments and expectations toward the final day of school on June 25. Please note the important information and announcements for the remainder of this year and the upcoming 2020-21 school year below.
On June 25th, 2020, the final day of school for students this year, we originally scheduled a 2 PM dismissal time; however, with the altered Voluntary Return to School schedule implemented this June we will be dismissing the afternoon classes (Grades 3 and 4) at 3PM now instead to ensure they receive the same instructional period the K-2 students have on that day. Please make a note of this change.
For the 2020-21 school year we will have a new bell schedule which adds 11 instructional minutes to each school day. Please make note of the new start and dismissal times. A warning bell will ring daily at 8:50 AM which is a signal to staff and students that classroom doors will be opening soon. Students will enter the building and begin their day prior to the 8:55am bell. Dismissal next year is at 3:00pm.
Below is the 2020-21 School Calendar for the year, with the entire bell schedule for the day at the top. A link to our Welcome to Kindergarten Information sent to all incoming Kindergarten Families and some important June Announcements.
As always please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions! I can be reached directly at email@example.com.
