Principal’s Message – January 19th
Dear Queen Elizabeth School Community,
We can’t believe February is already right around the corner! From Ski Club to Lunar New Year activities to the return of participation of families in our classrooms at drop off supporting literacy and math activities … the return from Winter Break has been busy and very rewarding. We look forward to sharing pictures of all in our upcoming edition of our QE Learning Newsletter.

Winter After School Programs
* A reminder that students will be handed off directly to Program Instructors at dismissal and parents are not required to support this. Please ensure you pick up your child on time at the program’s conclusion.
Rise Up Sports (Grades 2-4) begins in our School Gym tomorrow, January 20th, and continues every Friday to February 24th from 3:00 – 4:00 PM. Families have pre-registered and registration for the program is full.
Cartooning (Grades 1-4) begins on January 26th and continues every Thursday to March 9th. (No Class on Feb 23rd) from 3:00 to 4:15 PM. Families have pre-registered and this program is also full.

Queensborough JUST B4 Preschool Program
New Westminster Schools will be launching a new pilot preschool program called Queensborough JUST B4! This a play based program aimed at preparing preschoolers (Age 4) for their all important entry into the first year of school – Kindergarten! The application process opens tomorrow, Friday January 20th.

Counsellor Position at Queen Elizabeth
Ms Alanna Beaton began her maternity leave prior to Winter Break and the district is working hard to secure her replacement. In the meantime students will continue to be supported by our Care Team – Ms Sarah Heinz our Child Care Worker; Ms Debbie Ramen, our Vice Principal; Mr Paul Manville our Principal and where necessary our district Counsellor Ms Zaida Manji. We hope to provide further updates in the coming days. Please let us know if you have any questions or feel your child needs further support by our care team at any time.
