Principal’s Message – February 11th

Dear Queen Elizabeth School Community,

It is hard to believe Spring Break is right around the corner! Staff are hard at work completing assessments and reports for our second reporting period and preparing for student conferences taking place at the end of February. Please see the following updates and information and do not hesitate to reach out should you have any questions.

Monday, February 14th – Valentines Day – Red and Pink Day

Please encourage your child to participate in RED and PINK day on Monday, February 14th. No red or pink? All bright colours from the rainbow are encouraged. Classroom teachers will communicate any specific Valentines Day activities or plans to their families directly.

Hot Lunch Days Return

Our PAC has organized the return of Pizza Day for February 25th!
Orders must be placed by February 17th, order link below:

Grade 1 and 2 Physical Literacy Program!

Grade 1 and 2 classes continue their monthly Physical Literacy Program. Remaining sessions are scheduled for Feb 10, 17, Apr 13, 21, May 26, Jun 2 and 23rd  The District program provides Physical Literacy mentors that work directly with our Grade 1 and 2 teachers and students to build teaching capacity and promote new and creative ways to implement physical literacy activities and assessment within our classrooms, hallways, gym and outside spaces. Staff and Students have embraced the program and we know it will continue to support physical fitness instruction in our school for years to come.

Student Conferences – Wednesday, February 23 and Thursday, February 24th

Early dismissals are scheduled for Wed, Feb 23rd and Thurs, Feb 24th (dismissal at 12:24 PM) to accommodate Student Conferences. Teachers have reached out to families individually to communicate their conference plans. Please contact your classroom teacher directly should you have any questions or to schedule your conference time.


Please let the office know if you have plans to move this school year or before the start of the next 2022-23 school year. This information is important to help us plan for the coming school year.

Welcome to Kindergarten 2022

We will hold our annual Welcome to Kindergarten event for all our new 2022-23 Kindergarten Families in the first week of May. Details with specific days and times will be sent to all our new School Community members after Spring Break. Stay tuned!

School Expansion Project

Work continues on our exciting and much anticipated School Expansion Project. Currently the district is working with the architects to develop the school plans further. We will hold an information session for our community in early April to share our progress, discuss timelines and next steps, invite feedback and celebrate what will be a beautiful new addition to our growing community. Our goal is to hold this information session in person, at the school. Details for this session will be finalized and announced closer to Spring Break.
