Resources to Support Emotional Well-Being of Kids and their Families
During this time of global health concerns, our mental health is paramount and regular self-care is important! Here are a few tips for your whole family:
• Monitor kids’ screen-time and limit everyone’s Covid-19 news intake
• Stick to a schedule (write out a plan for the day for the kids, ensure everyone goes to bed and wakes up at regular times)
• If you can, get out for walks in nature as much as possible (keeping a 2-metre distance from non-family members at all times)
• Do chores together by getting all family members involved – get outside and wash and vacuum the family car, for example, and make it team work
• Although we can’t connect face-to-face with our friends and extended family, find other ways to reach friends, family, and even acquaintances
• Visit the Calm Blog or download the Mindshift app
